I had a fairly large number of packages (from circa 2012) installed on = the system I was trying to upgrade last year. I tried the cross-build = route (from macOS/arm64), but as I recall, I ended up spending numerous = hours going pretty far down the rabbit hole with the web of dependencies = before finally giving up on it. I feel like the best approach would be to have a supported binary pkgsrc = build available from netbsd.org. Given that binary builds for sgimips or = mipseb are no longer supported by pkgsrc, and that R4000 and up are = 64-bit CPUs, I have wondered about the feasibility of using the = available mips64eb packages. I noticed that there were various 64-bit = kernel configurations in the sgimips tree, but it was unclear to what = degree any of those were expected to work on systems like the Indy and = Challenge S. I tried to build a 64-bit configuration for the Challenge S = last year, but it was ultimately not successful in getting it to work. Just wondering whether anyone else has already considered or attempted = this. Thanks! Tim
