NetBSD Wii port doesn't seem to work on Wii U

Hello,
In case you are all not aware, the successor to the Nintendo Wii, the Wii U,
is capable of playing wii games and running wii homebrew through a hardware
enforced sandbox[1][2]. However, when I attempted to run the NetBSD wii image
through the homebrew channel, the monitor's screen turned black, and the gamepad
turned off and on multiple times. How could I debug this? Please let me know
why this is happening and if I should provide any additional information.
