Alright, it gets stranger now... :)

I run OBP 4.17.1 on this machine.

When i set output-device to "screen", everything is fine. I think the
machine detects the possible resolution and outputs correctly at
1280x1024x60

Now when i set output-device to "screen:1280x1024x60" or
"screen:1024x786x60", both settings result in an output picture of
1152x900x66 which i can't display, but the screen tells me it gets
this.
I need to output either 1024x768x60 or 1280x1024x60. Unsure if this is
a defect of my machine.

With output-device set to only "screen" and the iso from reddit, i
was able to install NetBSD9, if this helps.
Also with this iso i am unsure what the drawbacks are of using the
genfb. My target is to get an Xorg-session going as smooth as
possible.

Any suggestions what i should do next?
