Of interest to all of us who are trying to get emBSD to be a
wireless Access Point host OS.

Subject: [bsd-wireless] unified OpenBSD/NetBSD wi(4)
Date: Mon, 10 Jun 2002 03:25:43 -0500

I have produced a patch that begins to unify NetBSD's and OpenBSD's wi(4)
drivers. I've pulled in select elements from FreeBSD's driver, too.
I think the chief importance of these patches is that they bring HostAP
mode to NetBSD, but the ifmedia ioctls and other aspects are improved,
too.

The patch is at <http://che.ojctech.com/~dyoung/wip/wip.tgz>.

Consider the patch experimental. It has worked for me on NetBSD/i386,
but I have not "stressed" the driver. I have not yet tried the patch
in OpenBSD.

I have not brought in the recent airtools patches to OpenBSD, yet, sorry.
That looks to me like a substantial set of patches. It could be a while
before I get around to it.

If they are acceptable, I would like for these patches to get into the
netbsd-current tree, but I have no idea what the "protocol" for acceptance
is---do I submit a bug report containing the patch?

Dave
