Re: preparation for installation

personally I switched to Chris Capuccio's excellent flashdistro at
http://www.nmedia.net/~chris/soekris/

It's ultra thin (<20MB filesystem, kernel just over 1.3MP) and is based
on OpenBSD 3.1. Installation takes maybe 10 minutes from your existing
OBSD system. It runs off a 32MB CF card mounted read-only, thus
solving your write problem. There's no logging though so you have to
figure that out yourself (e.g. syslog).

Remember that ddclient requires Perl, so you need some extra space &
power. I am currently exploring other dyndns options, e.g. ez-ipupdate,
although that is only supposed to run in daemon mode on Linux, I still
have to try that.

BTW, I am even running PPPoE with this setup (needs some modification of
Chris' posted kernel config).
