CF and Disk Writes

Guys,

After customizing/configuring my net4501 setup, I'm a bit concerned about
random disk writes and their detrement on the life of the CF.

While working, I've noticed that SYSLOGD and PFD snuck in...I'm sure those
would kill the CF quickly, so I'll manually kill those.  But since I'm
running DHCPD, I'll need to leave write access on (low volume in my DHCP
clients, so shouldn't be too many writes)...but here's my question:

How do I know what else will write/destroy the CF without putting the
write-protect on the whole thing (since it needs to be 'open' for the leases
file?)

Any experience/wisdom/gotcha's that anyone wants to throw out?

PS.  It's been mentioned on the list to 'read the archives', but I have yet
to find a good 'search' feature? Am I missing it?
