A while ago I was suggesting the use of ez-ipupdate over ddclient as it doesn't require Perl. I can now confirm that it works flawlessly using Chris Cappuccio's distro. I am using it with PPPoE. The only problem I have is that the PPPoE link using tun0 doesn't come up reliably, e.g. on startup. SOmetimes I have to kill ppp several times and reestablish until I see something on tun0. ez-update is run as part of ppp.linkup. I haven't tried the daemon mode (README says it only works in Linux).
