X11 problems

Hello,

I have completed my upgrade to 3.6 on my MacIIci (well, a fresh isntall
is more appropriate) and X11 is not working, or better the X server has
problems. If export the display to another computer the X programs work
fine.

the video says:

Screen 0 at 0x7851000, 640x480, rowB 1024, fbbase0x66d5000

and the screen is white essentially, slowly horizontal lines appear,
patterned. I disover that moving the mouse the lines change, so probably
X is running, it is the server that writes wrongly to the framebuffer.

I am using a NuBUS video card and not the internal framebuffer. It is
indeed set at 640x480 1bit in macos for speed reasons with the console
:)

this is what I see in dmesg:

the card itself is an Apple card. I have some other nubus cards spare,
some SuperMac spectrums I believe.

SOmeone else has X working?

then I ask if color is supported? any chance at that ? Better
resolution?
I have to change the resolution/colors in macos before boot ?

BTW, I have a quadra, but I bet a 950 will never be decently
supported... mY q610 has gone into the paradise of old 68k computers
(well, or purgatory, I don't know). I loved that box.

PS: if someone has a faster machne, especially with lots of ram (> 128M)
if would be nice to have a JIKES package, but only if ports has a 1.21
version or newer (the previous ones are terribly bugged) so I can
continue the java testing work I have interrupted some time ago for the
lack of it and for a too old OS version.
