On an LC 475 sans FPU i was able to install OpenBSD using SoftFPU.
OpenBSD 3.2 wouldn't boot though, until i installed a full 68040 chip
(i.e. with FPU). I thought i read somewhere (and i may be wrong about
this) that the FPU emulator works fine (albeit slowly) on any 68K except
the 68040 (which is probably owing to the bug in some 68LC040's which can
break software FPU's).

Amen.

MacOS Filesharing also works well for this. That's how i did it.
