Why not upgrade the drive in your iBook? 40GB IBM Travelstar drives are selling for about $120-$140 and are generally much faster than the original Apple drives. I put one of these in an old PowerBook and it not only made MacOS X possible, it increased overall performance under MacOS 9; really felt like i had dropped in an accelerator. Never under-estimate the value of a fast HD for improving system performance (especially on a UNIX box). Regarding moving OpenBSD to the Performa, just use Apple Filesharing over EtherNet to drop the tarball and utilities onto the box (assuming you have enough HD space; you *should* be able to use multiple HD's for install as it's running under MacOS, even if you're unable to use the additional HD later when booted under OpenBSD... YMMV).
