memscroller.core - what is that?

Hi misc!
What is memscroller.core? After reading the manpage, it seems like
something related to xscreensaver but I'm not quite sure.

A simple enquiry shows that it is an executable:
$ file memscroller.core
memscroller.core: ELF 64-bit LSB core file x86-64, version 1

Thanks for any clue as to how it has been dumped in my home directory.
