$ which ed
/bin/ed
$ which sed
/usr/bin/sed

In the context of recovering broken systems from bsd.rd, /usr is
probably not mounted, so sed(1) is not available. If /usr *were*
mounted, I'd rather use vi(1) than sed(1) to fix my fstab.
