I have now proceeded to put such things as bsd.44 and bsd.rd.44 from
-release in /
Healthy paranoia and all that.
I'm sat in the server room with the scram-bag laptop (T41 running -stable)
and upgrade #2 seems to be going OK.
This has been officially Educational. That moment when you go 'Aw crap,
time to go through all the pain and faff that is a T1000 scratch install'
is good for the soul.

No idea. However, I was almost at the point of pulling up diskless(8), at
some point I should work out how to netboot this thing anyway.
As a completely random thought, it occurs to me: This is my mirror server.
I have all kernels for all arches for 4.4 and 4.3 in the big FFS2 data
partition. If I hadn't had an obsd, and had managed to work out the right
/pci@7c0/pci@0/pci@8/scsi@2/disk@0,0 incantation, could I have used a
release kernel?
