Latest Firmware & Drivers for QSI SB-242 Combo

Dear Sirs,

I wonder if you can help me.

I have an ACER 1700 series Notebook which contains a QSI SB-242 Combo CD/RW
writer.

This unit is approx. 2 years old now and hasnt had much use, we have always
been able to write to CD-R discs without any problems but recently we tried
to write to an RW disc and the system could not recognise the disc at all.

I have been searching the Net to try and find the latest Firmware for this
drive which is higher than my current one: UX08 as I understand that this
will resolve the issue together with the latest drivers higher than my
current one being: 5.1.2535.0

I have even tried to find a home page for Quantum Storage in Tiawan without
success.

Acer cant help me in the UK, they say it is the manufacturer of the drive
that I need to talk to and apart from completely buying a new drive I am
getting to the end of my enquiry line until I came across your page on the
net during a Google search.
