i seem to recall that blackbox is bsd licensed, really nice, small
and could be used in kde, gnome (but never tried that way),
and also i don't have ldd output handy of the executable, but
i think it has minimal dependencies.  but the development has stopped
at 0.65 i think.  it is still one of my favourites.
