You are right... was trying from iTerm.
New problem: X11 doesn't start. (missing file in X11R6). I think it can
have been deleted by port uninstall XFree86...

$ /Applications/Utilities/X11.app/Contents/MacOS/X11
dyld: /Applications/Utilities/X11.app/Contents/MacOS/X11 can't open
library: /usr/X11R6/lib/libX11.6.dylib (No such file or directory,
errno = 2)
Trace/BPT trap

I don't have OSX cd to reinstall here; I downloaded X11 from
darwinport.org and compiled it; no more result:
$ /Applications/Utilities/X11.app/Contents/MacOS/X11
Couldn't exec /usr/X11R6/bin/Xquartz: No such file or directory

and
$ ls /usr/X11R6/bin/X*
/usr/X11R6/bin/Xmark    /usr/X11R6/bin/Xnest    /usr/X11R6/bin/Xprt
/usr/X11R6/bin/Xvfb

No Xquartz around :(

The way is long to run X11 on Darwin :/
