The members of the DarwinPorts project would like to issue a huge
thanks to Kirk Clendinning (http://www.lensart.com) for his donation
to the project of the domain macports.com.

(If you missed our announcement yesterday, the DarwinPorts project
will transition to the new name "MacPorts", using the Macports.org
domain).

After securing macports.org as our new home, we approached Kirk, the
owner of the macports.com domain, to see if he'd be willing to
transfer it to us. He was, and did, and we now have the security of
knowing that we have control over that domain, which can help to
avoid some of the confusion we've faced in the past.

Please join me in thanking Kirk for his generosity. If you're so
inspired, browse and buy some of his photos at http://www.lensart.com.

Kirk also asks: "perhaps you could try to convince Microchip to offer
their PIC development products for OSX. I've contacted their software
department several times over the past few years trying to talk them
into letting me port their development environment without success.
Garmin, my other target of porting, has announced support for OSX.
Their effort is being run out of Phoenix. You could always offer them
tech support."

If anybody has leads or contacts at either of those places, it would
be a nice gesture to Kirk to follow up.

Thanks Kirk!
