New Mailing lists

	Good evening people! I'd like to announce that Kevin has already setup 
our new mailing lists over at macosforge, for us to move there and thus 
continue our migration.

	New lists look like this:

-) [email protected]: for all macports users in need 
of day to day support with ports and macports itself. Open to all, 
posts from non subscribers will be discarded.
-) [email protected]: dedicated exclusively to macports 
development, open to anyone interested in the topic. No general support 
will be provided on this list. Posts from non subscribers will be 
discarded.
-) [email protected]: where details of new trac 
ticket and changes to existing ones are posted to. Open to all, posts 
from non subscribers will be discarded.
-) [email protected]: where commit logs of svn 
checkins get posted. Open to all, posts from non subscribers will be 
discarded.
-) [email protected]: new portmgr@ list, where you'll 
find James, Markus and me. You all know its purpose so no need to 
explain ;-) Subscription is restricted, requiring our approval, but as 
this is the place you need to turn to for any admin requests you might 
have, the list is open to posts from non subscribers.

	At your convenience visit 
http://lists.macosforge.org/mailman/listinfo/ and subscribe to the 
lists you want. I thought about mass migrating all the subscribers of 
the OpenDarwin based lists to the new ones, but decided against it 
because through out time we've received a few complaints about failed 
attempts to sign off from our lists. Therefore, by letting you all 
resubscribe for yourselves I'm giving you a chance to rethink your 
membership.

	We are requiring all ports/base committers to subscribe to the first 
four lists, to assure we're all always on top of any important changes 
that might affect in whatever way the course of the project and/or of 
particular ports you maintain. Kevin already setup most cvs account 
holders with svn access, but missed some of you for some reason. I'm 
building a list with those missing ID's to remedy the situation, so 
please feel free to e-mail me if you're a cvs account holder but didn't 
receive instructions from us to setup your svn access. I'll get in 
touch with you in the coming days with proper instructions.

	Not sure when OpenDarwin lists will close down, but for the time being 
I think we can continue regular discussion here. Start subscribing to 
the new lists and when the time comes I'll signal the switchover, the 
day when we cease discussions here and start them over/continue them on 
macosforge. I figure that anyone who doesn't subscribe to the new lists 
by that moment, maybe because he/she didn't pick up this message, just 
aint too interested in participating (c.f. rethinking your membership 
;-)
