That depends on the version of gcc he's trying to build. Also, the gcc 
.spec assumes you have a fat toolchain and fat system libraries installed 
already (OpenDarwin builds everything fat). A Mac OS X system would almost 
cetainly not have that, so as Finlay says, the SRPM is not terribly 
useful.

The READMEs in the gcc source provided by Apple, and the apple-ppc-branch 
of FSF GCC CVS should be all the documentation you need.
