3 problems with OpenDarwin

Hi all,

I installed OD 7.2.1 on my 97' vintage iBook clamshell.  I have 
achieved some success in getting the install to work as my "desktop" 
computer.  I installed XFree86 binary distribution from XFree86.org and 
had problems starting x but then found the "ForwardX11 = yes" solution 
(ssh_config file in /etc).  That worked great.  I got ansi colors to 
show up while in console mode but not in xterm. I can get internet 
access and have installed darwinports with out problems.  So my 3 
problems that I can not find solutions to by browsing the internet are:

1) I have no idea how to set the clock which is set to 1/14/1970.  I 
keep getting tons of error messages on other things I try to install.

2) I cannot get Xemacs to install with darwinports

3) how do I get ansi color with ls command to work in xterm or rxvt 
(which installed very easily with darwinports)

Also I know this may not be the proper forum for this question but I'm 
hoping someone may have an idea:  Is there a problem installing Fink 
without Aqua/osX?  Darwinports via cvs was no problem.  But fink via 
cvs, I get all the same things to show up as the tar.gz package but it 
will not build any of the executables.  It makes the directories and 
scripts but won't do anything else.  The only reason I wanted to 
install fink to was to get Xemacs.  I've had luck installing Xemacs 
with fink on another computer running 10.3.  Any comments and 
suggestions are always welcome.
