OpenDarwin has had the ear of many people inside Apple for a long
time. The issues that have been encountered are long-standing, and
after several years of people trying in vain to make the necessary
changes and find a workable future direction it has been decided that
it's time to give up and stop beating the proverbial horse.

This was not a decision that was taken lightly, and if anyone had
thought that the situation would be noticeably different after WWDC
then I'm sure it would have been postponed.
