I do remember spending days and nights creating a scene in 3D Studio  
(the Yost Group DOS version shamefully pirated by an art school  
student friend), circa 1992 on my 386 SX 25 and going to bed to let it  
render overnight.

The thrill of seeing the resulting images the next day was amazing  
(this was back when I had discovered in "Leonard Maltins Film Guide"  
that George Lucas had made other films before Star Wars and I got a  
bit too into American Graffiti).

We also spent many neurotic hours ("Don't touch the wire!")  
downloading .gif files and chapters of the Anarchist Cookbook from  
bulletin boards using a Rockwell 2400bps modem. This image is really  
poignant as it took ages to download for a friend and we were so  
disappointed when it finally finished :-
