Hi, I'm in the process of making a Mini-DIN serial cable for an IPC/IPX and went slightly "spare" soldering the wires on the back of the plug, but I noticed one company that sold pre-made cables and thoughtfully also have a cable which has just the Mini-DIN connected and the other end just tails so you can wire it up as you like....
