Thanks Geoff After a bit more googling I suspect it is the fault of the screen itself not being able to reformat the VGA input to fit the widescreen display. It seems these new widescreen LCDs need native input in exotic resolutions such as 1344 x 1008. Oh well it works fine with my G5. Yesterday whilst doing the rounds of the local second hand computer shops during my lunch break I found a 4:3 aspect ratio HP L1925 screen. Getting it home on the tram wasn't easy but it works as expected with the Sunblade. The ideal solution would have been to buy a graphics card with DVI output such as the XVR-100 but that would have broken my skinflint "using cheap PC stuff from the supermarket" rule. Ben PS Folks I've still got an E3500, Ultra 1 and now a 19" Sun CRT to give away in Brussels.
