The key generation is very cpu intensive so, I would guess it is over 
heating and shutting down. The rest of the install the cpu is basically 
doing nothing.

You could carefully disassemble the cpu module and redo all heat sink 
compound but, I wouldn't bother. You should be able to pick up a used 
450mhz cpu for almost nothing. They sell for about $5 each on eBay last 
I looked.
