I have an SS20 (dual 125MHz Hypersparc) with a 4MB VSIMM and working cg14.
The NetBSD 4.0 X worked out of the box, but you have to use Xsun24 ... 
change the
sym link /usr/X11R6/bin/X to point to /usr/X11R6/bin/Xsun24 and try again.
