Is your 13W3 to VGA adapter cable speciffically wired for Sun systems? There are several variants of 13W3 pinout. (Sun, IBM, SGI, NeXT, ...) Most differences are in the sync signals... Also possible: The GC6 supplies compisite sync. Maybe your LCD doesn't like this. Maybe your LCD is to stupid to sync to the "odd" resolution of 1152x900 from the CG6. CRTs, especialy the Sonys that Sun OEMed, are verry good in syncing to everything, regardless of resolution or sync signal type.
