Hi list, The IDPROM in one of my SparcStation20s seems to have given up the ghost, finally. I do have another ss20 that has a fault on the motherboard so I'm going to try the chip from the 'spares' machine in the one I'm actually using. The problem is, how do you actually remove the chip from the board? It looks as thought it should simply be pulled off the board, gripping a lip at top and bottom of the chip holder. The ss20 service manual doesn't mention how you actually remove it... Also, if this chip is also non-usable, is anyone aware of a good source in the UK? I've found a few places via Google in the US already. Cheers, Steve -- [email protected] Hosted by SDF Public Access UNIX System - est. 1987 == http://sdf.org/ ==
