the only time my cat ever paid any attention to the tv was during the
nova episode on birdsong.  after about a minute whe figured out the
screen was in her way and lost interest.

i'm surprised cats can't see 60hz flicker, considering how tuned they
are to rapid motion.  ever heard the expression 'the attention span of
a cat in a roomful of flying bugs'?

and while you can't see it as flicker, 150hz is more attention-getting.
