This is your misinterpretation. In no way I consider you a lazy and
clueless newbie. Please take my apology for being ambiguous. I am no
native english speaker. Sometimes it is hard for me to choose the right
words. Especially in email communication, that lacks any sort of
non-verbal communication. What I wanted to say: Back in the old days,
you outed yourself as a clueless newbie when your first post to a
newsgroup or mailing list was a top posting. Obviously these criteria
do not apply to you and today. I just wanted to express my discomfort
about top postings. For me, they are just annoying.

So do I. In addition I have problems with my back. Carrying a 20" CRT is
a no-go for me right now. :-(

Also: I stared into blurry CRTs for many years. It is so much nicer to
look into a sharp and crisp LCD. (Modulo interpolation artifacts.)

I am afraid, in a few years there will be no longer any displays with
analog video input, only DVI / HDMI / DisplayPort what ever. It will be
interresting to find a way to interface classic workstations to those
displays.
