Greetings, Has anyone had experience with adding 3510 JBOD chassis to a 3510 FC RAID array while still "in flight?" I have two 3510 JBOD chassis each fully populated with 300 GB disks to add to our existing 3510 RAID array. The existing array is directly connected to two hosts. The Installation, Operation, and Service Manual for the 3510 states you can connect an expansion unit without stopping I/O - but does not offer up many details beyond "Ensure there are no logical drives or logical volumes on any previously used expansion units you want to connect to a RAID controller." The manual does not indicate how to do that or remove an LD/LV that might be there (but how could there be on a JBOD?) Since I am adding "previously enjoyed" equipment I do not know what might be on the disks. Perhaps I ought to just plan on a late night and avoid possible excitement. -- *********************************************************************** Robert M.
