samba upgrade - ld.so.1: smbd: fatal: libiconv.so.2: open failed

Hello,

I need help regarding samba upgrade from 3.0.23 --> 3.6.1.

I have gone through few threads on the mailing lists and found even you have
encountered this issue few yers ago.

When ever I issue the command to check the version or try to start the
service. I get the below error. can you guide me how you have resolved the
issue.

[cohort:root]# ./smbd -V
ld.so.1: smbd: fatal: libiconv.so.2: open failed: No such file or directory
Killed


And, how can I disable the earlier version of samba and enable the latest
version of samba. How do i migrate all the samba shares from the old smb.conf
file to the new one.
