StorageTek 2540 issues

All,

I'm trying to create 4 750 GB volumes on a StorageTek 2540.  I have
initialized the first two volumes, and it's taking for ever to initialize, but
now, the 'Maximal Volume Size' on one of the vdisks reads '500GB'.  I have 1.1
TB available, though.  I am assuming this means that I can only create a
volume that's 500 GB in size, right?  If so, can modify the vdisk and defrag
it to get the contiguous space I need?  And if I do so, any idea how long it
will take for a 3 TB total capacity vdisk?  Thank you.
