All, it's been quite a while since I have used Solstice DiskSuite but I had a call today from another site and they need a hand. They currently have a few systems with 2 disk drives and want to make a couple spare copies of the currently running system for backups and to possibly boot additional systems (same architecture). They use Disksuite and have 5 partitions mirrored. Each device (d0, d1, etc.) is made up of the standard mirror of a primary disk and mirrored disk. D0 D10 D20 D1 D11 D21 so on....... Question: What is the easiest way to create additional spare drives? I had originally thought of breaking the mirror, insert new drive, prtvtoc/fmthard (not sure if I need to newfs) so the partitions match, attach the new drive as submirror and let the resync handle things. Once completed break mirror, move drice to backup system and then try to boot on backup system. Any thoughts?
