More out of curiosity than anything else... I have been wondering what the maximum partition size is on the current version of Tru64. I know this has been discussed before, but I wanted to correlate it with our observations... The SPD still gives the maximum partition size as 1TB-512K, but elsewhere it's suggested that the limit was raised to 2TB - for example this posting on comp.os.tru64: http://groups.google.com/group/comp.unix.tru64/browse_thread/thread/ea88de7ddadaabc9/7cc48d8caa4f270f?lnk=st&q=tru64+maximum+disk+size&rnum=1#7cc48d8caa4f270f We have a couple of alphaservers (a DS20 and an ES40) connected with KGPSA-CA HBAs to an EMC Clariion CX300. All firmware is current (SRM 7.2-1 and KGPSA-CA version 3.93A0), and they are running 5.1B-4. Our observation is that disklabel can only manage a disk of <1TB (probably the SPD value of 1TB-512K. We have three disks set up on the array, of 1000MB, 1TB and 2TB. disklabel can write a label to the first, but returns "disklabel: cannot determine disk type." for the others. So is the information about the raised 2TB limit maybe incorrect? Or does it depend on the particular HBA and driver?
