This has happened to me on a few occasions though not that often surprising
for where I live. I have found that anything from Somalia needs heat all
year round, minimum temps 68F. This goes for the Indian ones as well.
The rest from the West to the South of Africa can be split into two groups
round leaf cylindrica types and flat leaf hyacinthoides types. The round
leaf can take fairly low temps but the flat leaf need it about 5 deg F
warmer. I have a scabrifolia that has had frost on it although badly marked
it survived, I do not recommend this though. Winter temps generally should
be not less than 60deg.F. But keep your Somalis warm.
