When I get back from CHORES I see there is much investigation to be done.

One of my favourite piece of ancient little known architectural this 
is Czechoslovakian churches, built entirely underground but almost 
exactly like the log cabins of the pioneers of the USA. as they are 
buried, few people know about them.

What is that piece of framework which encircles this building, about 
a quarter of the way down from the top?
