HUGE vegetables are also grown in New Zealand where the earth is 
warmed by subterranean hot springs. I remember seeing  in the 
National Geographic magazine as a child, a pumpkin as big as a VW 
Beetle. and a leek the size of a three year old child. you know about 
the leek growing contest in England where rival farmers raid each 
others gardens to wreak havoc on each others leeks. Of course you do.
