Hermine,
Please calm down and spare your hubby AND your hair! IMHO, the survival of =
your peyote is in little or no doubt, especially if your peyote is the most=
popular species Lophophora williamsii (possibly v. caespitosa? there are o=
nly 2-3 speciosa in the Lophophora genus, I'm not sure). Please remember th=
at American Indians, who use peyote for their rituals, only harvest the par=
t that extends above the ground level, and allow the quite massive undergro=
und taproot to re-growth the green above-ground 'head' for future harvest.

I had said something about putting my ancient peyotl outside, it=20
having been indoors and under lights for about four years.
I mean to put it in a shady place. my husband in trying to be=20
helpful, put it outside with all the other cactus plants IN FULL=20
BLAZING SUN. The top is all burned and crispy but the "waistline" of=20
  the plants are not burned.

I just took it back into the house and watered it and replaced it=20
under its usual light, which is enough to induce flowering.

Mostly I want it just NOT TO CROAK. the cosmetic appearance which was=20
so PERFECT, it will, if it lives, replace that.

  any guesses on survival?

this was an honest mistake from a person who does not know about=20
hardening off things. I have tons of other cactus growing in full blazing=
 sun.

  <sobs uncontrollably>

  hermine
