I forgot at least two groups:
new immigrants & native american tribes.
(many of the former, horrifically, are in the process of being deported)

Do you have your heart set on the US for your project?

any money you raise could go alot farther somewhere else-
in addition, we could start somewhere where few people do drive cars--

I am doubtful -- but not 100% -- that the world's new cultural capitol (if
there can be such a thing) -- I'm talking about the capitol of the
new/old-old culture. --- will, or even can be, in the US.
but maybe it has to be-- Maybe it will be nowhere but on the internet. But
I don't think so. I'm looking for the new Florence, the new New York City,
the new Paris, for the time that comes after this one.

(of course a cultural capitol wasn't your goal--but it would help to have
a positive selling-point)


As I consider where to go next, at the top of my list are "poor" countries
that at least have decent internet access.

Don't forget, most of the people in the world are carfree! (just not the
ones we happen to live near) (which, of course is why a carfree city in
the US would be such a huge accomplishment)

I'm partial to china & india, but maybe central & south america?
then again, a small country with a small, accessible gov't might be
preferable.

Puerto Alegre Brazil has been the center of some new stuff-
send me other places that come to mind where people are thinking/ living
in ways that focus intelligently on quality of experience.

Realize that we are almost totally out of the loop with respect to what's
happening in Asian and other non-english-speaking countries.
I wish I saw a clear way through that ignorance.

I really wonder what's happening in India, or maybe China-- which have
massive mind share, and a much older culture with perhaps greater
historical continuity. (I am clueless though)
