Hello everyone, I wanted to bring to your attention one particular threat facing Istanbul at this point. It is the potential construction of a third bridge spanning the Bosporus. Here is a short piece on that: http://www.greenhorizon-online.com/index.php/Turkey/third-bridge-dilemma-in-istanbul.html I'm in touch with the people who are working on opposing that, and one thing that came to my mind is that it could be potentially helpful if there are organisations elsewhere who have dealt with such problems in the past, and could help shed light on best practices. UK anti-highway expansion efforts came to mind, i believe there is a rich tradition of that there. Although I'm not fully sure where might be the best places to look, or if there is any particular group that could be interested in looking into this particular case.
