Travel to TCC IX in York

Dear carfree friends,

Registration for TCC IX in York - 28 June to 1 July - is still open, and you can find a detailed provisional programme here:

You can already make bookings on coaches and Eurostar to London - the train  through the Channel Tunnel from France and Belgium - right through  until the end of July.

If travelling from or via Germany, try buying a London-Spezial train ticket through DeutscheBahn. These are available until Thursday 8  July. Tomorrow they will be available until 9 July and so on... always 92 days in advance. These tickets are sold as singles, so book the outward journey as soon as possible to be sure of picking up a ticket for €55 (lowest price) from any station in Germany (plus Basel and Salzburg) to London. These tickets include the Eurostar journey through the tunnel and are excellent value.

Alternatively InterRail may offer the best combination of price and flexibility - but remember you need a separate Eurostar ticket (at a discounted price) for the Tunnel bit.

British train tickets (including combined Eurostar from Paris, Lille or Brussels to London + London to York tickets) are currently available until 2 July. I expect tickets for travel up to 9 July will go on sale next Thursday (15  April). Book early to pick up a single ticket from London to York for 10 pounds!

It isn't possible to compare all the deals on one website, but if you write to  me off-list I will try to find you a  good bargain.
