Please could you confirm the dateof the Belgrade conference you mentioned? = Unfortunately 20 September would be right in the middle of the Degrowth con= ference, which I think at least 3 of us have already signed up and paid for= . What kinds of activities have been planned as part of the Biketour? A criti= cal mass ride in Venezia Mestre could be worth doing. Regarding accommodati= on, I think the Degrowth conference organisers have offered to help partici= pants=A0 find cheap places and homestays. Cheers, Simon. ________________________________ From: Milan Boric <[email protected]> To: Carfree Networklist <carfree_network-/[email protected]>=20 Cc: Joel Crawford <[email protected]>=20 Sent: Wednesday, 23 May 2012, 15:59 Subject: RE: [carfree_network] like WCN? like Venice? Yes Venice i= s for sure very expensive city.=20 I will be participating at EcotopiaBiketour from Torino or Milano towards V= enice. I guess we will be staying close to Venice at Mestre. Actually we are looki= ng for a cheap solution as a sleeping place. We will be there around 19th or 20th of September. I'm not sure if I will s= tay there for a few more days. Here at Belgrade my NGO "Yugo Cycling Campaign" has applied for a funding o= f European Mobility Week Program. If we get the approval there will be some small scale one day conference "E= co-Mobility" on 20th of September with=20 two international guests from EC Directory General for Environment and Euro= pean Cyclists Federation. I will inform you, or simply send you invitation when there will be certain= decision about this conference. I was thinking about meeting at Belgrade if not for this occasion but for s= ome other opportunity to show you the city of Belgrade which has wonderful location at confluence of two big rivers Sa= va and Danube. But my hometown has so many problems with traffic congestion and one of the= worst public transport systems in the neighborhood. There has been some initiatives to make it better with in= troduction of new vehicles like new trams, trolleys and buses but this is just small contribution to solution of the b= ig problem. All the best.
