Welcome. Lots of lurkers here so you're in good company.

sharon> First found your site in January when I was searching for

sharon> My White Problem and Yours, and much else I found on the

Cool, glad to hear it.

Yep, if that's what you like, you'll be in good company *again*. :>

sharon> Monkeyfist is one of the first sites related to political
sharon> activism I visited on the web. I've been making a little

This is very gratifying to hear. There are more and more good leftie
sites around every day. I stopped trying to keep up years ago.

Well, everything you mentioned strikes me as political, but I know
what you mean. Lots of good stuff happens in Chicago from what I can
tell. I'm starting to write a politics and technology column for LiP
Magazine, which is published out of Chicago, and one of the occasional
Monkeyfisters is up there too.

Cool. N'western is a godo school. I've learned a lot about religion
and public policy from one of the law profs at N'western.

sharon> Is it OK if I put in a plug for a progressive Chicago
sharon> publication I like? The September 3rd issue of In These
sharon> Times has two good articles on the violence in
  sharon> Genoa. http://www.inthesetimes.org/ also
  sharon> http://www.inthesetimes.com/web2519/a from the August 20
  sharon> edition.

Cool. I used to subscribe; it's an interesting magazine, though a bit
in my doghouse for refusing a recent antiracist piece of mine. Do you
remember them publishing much explicit antiracism stuff?

Good to hear from you, Sharon. If I take the train through Chicago,
from Dallas, to go to DC protests at end of September, I'll know there
are least *two* Monkeyfist readers there. That way, if I get stuck in
some terminal, sleeping on my luggage, I can, uh, erm... something.

Best,
Kendall Clark
