I live in the UK. I used to admire the US. I remember the Civil Rights movement, the widespread opposition to the war in Vietnam. There seemed to be a strong liberal, progressive movement over there.
What has happened to it?
It seems to be alive on your web site, but hardly anywhere else.
Post sept 11, the US has made it very clear that its aim is to dominate the world, and to 'civilize' us all. Dissenting views are 'evil', and will not be tolerated. As a start, it seems that beards are definitely not allowed.
I used to visit the US regularly over a ten year period, I felt at home there.
But now I see the US as a threat. Its intelligence agencies spy on our conversations. It supports human rights violations in many parts of the world- palestine, south america.
It is responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of children in Iraq.
If this is not an evil world influence, I don't know what is.
And my government supports all of this.
