Radio Nacional de Venezuela reports: National Elections Council (CNE)
director Jorge Rodriguez has presented a final report on signature
repairs for National Assemblymen held two weeks ago. Recall referenda
will be held against nine ... all from the opposition.

Rodriguez also presented a preliminary report of last weekend=E2=80=
=99s
signature repairs for the Presidential recall referendum process ...
even though a certain percentage of signature lists remain to be
evaluated, there are already 15,000 more signatures than required to
convene a recall referendum against President Hugo Chavez Frias.

next stages of the referenda.=E2=80=9D

With respect to the repairs process for the recall referendum against
the President of the Republic, Rodriguez indicates that the
transcription and tallying process =E2=80=9Cis going quickly. 40% of =
the lists
have been transcribed, and 35% have been certified. There have been v=
ery
few errors in the lists examined so far.=E2=80=9D

Rodriguez says that in last weekend=E2=80=99s repairs process, 614,96=

signatures were included, but 74,112 were excluded. As a net result,
with 2,436,083 signatures  required, and 2,451,821 already obtained .=
..
i.e. 15,738 more than the required number to convene the referendum.

=09 =E2=80=9CThis expresses a clear tendency with respect to the
possibility of convening a referendum against the mandate of the
President of the Republic.=E2=80=9D

Rodriguez indicates that the preliminary results were obtained via
computerized transmission of data from each one of the repairs center=
s
highlighted by the National Elections Board (JNE).

On May 28, the first day of repairs, 84.74% of the computers transmit=
ted
information to the CNE ... a number that grew to 86.16% the second da=
y,
and fell to 64.53% the third day, due to problems in deciphering the
information.

=E2=80=9CBy the third day, we compared the data obtained with the res=
ults of our
tallying process and determined that the results of the computerized
transmissions were very close to the true results, with a very low
margin of error.=E2=80=9D

The CNE authorized participants in the recall referendum process to
provide their own figures from this moment on ... =E2=80=9Chowever, t=
he CNE has
the final word!=E2=80=9D National Assembly (AN) deputy Rodriguez says=
 that 100%
of the signature repair lists have been examined for referenda agains=
t
deputies and presented a report on each one of them:

=09* Nelson Ventura: 746 signatures included in the repairs, and 23
excluded. Final result: 9,976 signatures were required, 11,356
signatures obtained. A recall referendum will be held.

=09* Isabel Calderon: 911 signatures included in the repairs and 28
excluded. 6,721 signatures were required, 7,182 signatures were
obtained. A recall referendum will be held.

=09* Rafael Simon Jimenez: 7,264 signatures included in the
repairs, 16 excluded 40,040 signatures were required, 37,930 signatur=
es
were obtained. A recall referendum will not be held.

=09* Jesus Garrido Perez: 13,321 signatures included in the
repairs, 24 excluded 59,258 signatures were required, 53,922 were
obtained. A recall referendum will not be held.

=09* Salomon Centeno: 2,760 signatures included in the repairs, 180
excluded. 13,885 signatures were required, 16,456 were obtained. A
recall referendum will be held.

=09* Rafael Marin: 18,338 signatures included in the repairs, 1,150
excluded. 66,255 signatures were required, 75,782 were obtained. A
recall referendum will be held.

=09* Wilfredo Febres: 11,090 signatures included in the repairs,
920 excluded. 73,162 signatures were required, 75,458 were obtained. =

recall referendum will be held.

=09* Luis Longart: 2,386 signatures included in the repairs, 8
excluded. 20,420 signatures were required. 22,387 were obtained. A
recall referendum will be held.

=09* Hector Gaester: 5,935 signatures included in the repairs, 7
excluded. 24,351 signatures were required. 21,211 were obtained. A
recall referendum will not be held.

=09* Alfonzo Marquina: 17,441 signatures included in the repairs,
40 excluded. 27,708 signatures were required, 26,561 were obtained. A
recall referendum will not be held.

=09* Carlos Berrizbeitia: 12,554 signatures included in the
repairs, 1,644 excluded. 41,660 signatures were required, 43,480 were
obtained. A recall referendum will be held.

=09* Cesar Perez Vivas: 8,425 signatures included in the repairs,
72 excluded. 25,412 signatures were required, 26,870 were obtained. A
recall referendum will be held.

=09* Conrado Perez Briceno: 18,996 signatures included in the
repairs, 732 excluded. 67,860 signatures were required, 69,558 were
obtained. A recall referendum will be held.

=09* Imad Saab Saab: 114 signatures included in the repairs, 1,205
excluded. 31,812 signatures were required, 21,683 were obtained. A
recall referendum will not be held.
