This is a truly important essay - Bacevich is not a pacifist, but a man who=
served in the US army in Vietnam and the first Gulf War, who is a Colonel,=
though now a professor. He has been a serious critic of the military expan=
sion. His views really should be read with care and distributed widely. Nor=
mally I don't pass on the materials such as this to the Edgeleft list, but =
we seem to be drifting toward an endless war.
