It's a typical and understandable response of the masses in wars between ca=
pitalist states after the initial flush of nationalistic war fever when the=
y come to see who is profiting from their hardships and sacrifice and whose=
 class interest is being served.

Unlike in Ukraine and Russia, the left-led 20th century wars of national li=
beration in China, Vietnam, and Cuba aimed at the siezure of state power, a=
nd the resolve of the peasants and workers to fight those wars grew rather =
than waned as the struggle progressed. This was=C2=A0 precisely because the=
y perceived the war as their war, being fought in their interests and not t=
he interest of the corrupt exploiting classes backed by Western imperialism=
