Of course Deutscher was correct to name Non-Jewish Jews, except that the term 'Jew' is derogatory and was used by the Nazis on the yellow star to be worn under penalty of death.
Trotsky also considered the Jewish People to be a Nation in his 1937 pamphlet.
How can those who consider themselves Trotskyists not agree.
As an original Bundist by way of my mother Cesia Goldseider-Friedman, it is obvious that we are Jewish. As for religious belief there is not much to say and if there were something to say it would not be kind to the 'Diety'.

As for some who cannot abandon their sectarianism towards Jewish people my Thesis disproves the Liberal notion of Nation and is found for free at the listed Acadamia.edu site.

Online and other friends with whom I've had this invariably inconclusive discussion have often defined themselves, following Issac Deutscher, as "non-Jewish Jews". But it should be noted that Deutscher was  accurately describing his relationship to that eastern European Yiddish-speaking community - a Jew by nationality - but "non-Jewish" by religion.

The  issue is an interesting but peripheral one compared to the challenges which confront Marxists today, and this will be my last word barring any replies.
