Tony, as heroic as the Paris Commune was, it was born of a revolutionary workers uprising more than a century and a half ago and lasted a little more tha two months, so I hesitate to turn to it as a model for formulating demands today, not least because of the much lower lower level of working class political consciousness. I did acknowledge that if there were to be a revival of working class militancy provoked, for example, by mass joblessness resulting from AI and robotics, radical and relatively unknown demands like recall and salary caps could gain a hearing. At present, I’m interested in learning, even anecdotally since it’s early days, how widely your proposals are being circulated in the DSA, with what reaction, and whether any have been adopted by a DSA body.
